Board Meeting Minutes, Dec. 6, 2021

NLA ANNUAL MEETING DEC 06, 2021

The meeting was opened promptly by Pres. Rick Lindner at 6:32 pm.

Members present: Harold Burton, Rick Lindner, Gordy Christians, Tom LeMay, John Welter, Casey Stangl, Mark Schaenzer, Jeff Hanson, Dale McPherson, Glenn Rolloff, and Steve Bilitz.

Minutes of the Oct. 4th Board Meeting were read online. MOTION: to approve the minutes. Passed.

Treasurer’s Report: We have $19,028 in the checking acct., and $27,865 in the Money Market Acct. MOTION: to accept the report. Passed.
Current NLA membership stands at 246 members.

Fishing Has No Boundaries activities: The Spring Outing will take place May 20-21, 2022. MOTION: to donate $100 to the organization. Passed.

Winter Rama Event: Date: Jan. 8 from Noon to 5 pm. There will be prizes for the chili cook-off and for desserts. CC skiing around the Big Island will start at 10 am and begin at The Landing. John W. will have spotters around the island and some snowmobilers checking on cc skiers. No pre-registration this Winter.

NABA Fishing Event: Sat. Jan. 15, 2022 at Gerlach’s Landing. NLA Board members will help with parking and safety from 11 am thru’ the end of the event.

WFNW WI Fishing Event: Postponed due to covid this Winter.
2021 Clean Boats, Clean Waters Program grant payment request will be sent in December.

Resort Assoc. Update: Ice markers for the snowmobiling trail on Nelson L. will be out before Christmas. There will be a few new marketing ideas coming from the Assoc. this year.

Town Board Update: The new grader is now in the township’s possession.
Scholarship Award for 2022: We will have an award given out in 2022. The gift is $1,000. More info coming during the 1st quarter of 2022.
N. Waters Environmental School: No report.

Tagalder Beach update: Nothing new to report.
Other items: 1) WI Lakes sent a letter to Rick L. asking us to join their organization. We anticipate a similar request for the NLA sometime this coming Spring. We will decide this matter then.
2) WI DNR Fisheries crew stocked 29,312 extended growth walleyes into Nelson L. this past Fall. Reports of good ice fishing catches of walleyes.
