Nelson L. Association Board Meeting minutes, June 2, 2025

The meeting was opened promptly at 6:29 PM by President Dale McPherson.
Members present: Rick Lindner, Gordy Christians, Tom LeMay, John Welter, Casey Stangl, Jeff Hanson, Dale McPherson, Mike Hallum, Glenn Rolloff, Scott Wied, and Steve Bilitz.
The Board meeting minutes of 4/7/25 were read, corrected, then resent on-line. MOTION: to approve the minutes. Passed.
Treasurer’s Report: There is $ 36,733.68 in the checking account, and $ 15,436.15 in the Money Market account. We currently have 178 paid members in the NLA.
A request came to the Board to use Zoom for virtual viewing at our annual meeting. MOTION: To investigate streaming for the 2026 Annual Meeting. Streaming will be done only, no voice or active participation except for active attendees. Passed.
Scholarship: We want to reach the person who wins the scholarship.
Invasive Monitoring Network: We have all our areas on Nelson L. covered by volunteers.
Town Board Update: The conditional use permit will be considered at the next town board meeting. Bids for blacktopping and crushing of gravel are being requested. Cost-sharing will help in savings.
Resort Association Update: Danielle Harvey, President and Charity Redlund, Secretary/Treasurer are the new Board members. The Resort Assoc. will donate up to 1/3 of the walleye stocking costs. The Association is now listed as a 501C4.
Raffle Posters and Tickets: Both have been sent out to all bars and resorts on Nelson L.
Raffle prizes: We now have all the raffle prizes.
Garage status update: The conditional use permit will be voted on by the County Board on June 20th. One week later when we get the paperwork we can get started in constructing the garage along the Gerlach boat access site parking area. The garage door costs about $ 1,000, which can be ordered later.
August Picnic: Plans will be finalized at our August Board meeting.
