Nelson L. Assoc. Board meeting, minutes from Apri 4, 2022
The meeting was opened promptly by Pres. Rick Lindner at 6:35 pm.
Members present: Rick Lindner, Gordy Christians, Tom Le May, John Welter, Casey Stangl, Dale McPherson, Mike Hallum, Glenn Rolloff, and Steve Bilitz.
Minutes from our last Board meeting were read on-line.
MOTION: to approve the minutes. Passed.
Treasurer’s Report: Membership now totals 247. As of the end of the 3rd Quarter, there is $14,956 in the checking account, and $27,886 in the Money Market Account. Membership dues letter will go out next week. MOTION: to accept the report. Passed.
Scholarship Candidates: Only 3 of the 8 applications qualified as environmental students. Emma Mittlesdorf wins the scholarship.
Raffle Status: Posters for the raffle are ready to go. Tickets will be printed soon.
Fishing Has No Boundaries Plans: The Nelson L Association’s pontoon may be run by Dale McPherson, who will know for sure by the end of this week.
Lenroot Township Board: Elections Tuesday of this week. Road bans are on until about the end of April. The Tagalder bridge will be out for replacement all through this coming Summer. Norvado will add high speed internet on Tannning Pt Rd. with people on that road receiving letters from the company offering their services.
Resort Assoc. Report: They will have their next meeting in April, 2022.
Spring Newsletter: The following will be included in this Newsletter: Important dates for the Association; Fisheries survey and stocking plans for Nelson L.; Boat inspector staffing; Treasurer’s report; Elections and new Board members’ photos; Annual meeting agenda; Raffle plans for 2022; Big Island Kayak event info; Lenroot Township updates; Fishing regs for Nelson L.; Advertiser cards. The target for publication is April 30, 2022.
MOTION: to proceed with the paperwork for a possible Fall, 2022 drawdown on Nelson L. Passed.
Boat Inspectors: There are 4 boat access site monitors ready to go for the 2022 season.
Tagalder Beach: A Land and Waters County committee will discuss and hopefully give an OK to developing this new beach area near the former boat access site in the NE corner of Nelson L.
Annual Picnic: The picnic will take place on Sat. Aug. 13, 2022 at the park by the dam. Last year’s picnic attendance was 209.
Sawyer Co. Lake’s Forum: We have a need for an individual to be our representative at their meetings.
Other: The WI Dept. of Agriculture will be treating for Gypsy Moths in our area during June, 2022.
Next NLA Board meeting: Monday, June 6, 2022 at 6:30 pm.
