Nelson Lake Board of Directors Meeting December 6, 2015

Meeting was opened at 6:30 pm.

Treasurer’s Report: $36,370.59 in our accounts.
Winter Rama: This event will take place Jan. 2, 2016 at the Nelson L. Landing. We will ask Scott Flynn to be the MC for the event.

Fish Sticks Project: When ice allows in Jan. 2016 we’ll proceed with adding selected trees to become fish sticks in Nelson L. We will be working between Birch Point to Benny’s Bay along the Big Island.

Northland Area Builder’s Assoc. (NABA) Fishing Event will take place Jan. 16, 2016 on Nelson L. We will meet at Gerlach’s Landing at 8 am. Walleyes for NW Wisconsin Fishing Event: will be held on Feb. 13, 2016 on LCO. We will provide security for the event and donate a picture for their raffle. They have given our Association $$ for fish stocking Nelson L. in year’s past.

Scholarship Award for 2016: This award will be given to a high school graduate majoring in Natural Resources or Environmental Studies. We will award $500 to this student.

Kiley Weed Proposal: A request came to us to consider joining in a weed removal project in a bay of Nelson L. It will cost approx. $1,000/acre. We will not provide help in this proposal.

MOTION. to request that the Nelson L Assoc be informed prior to the ok of any weed permit being given by the WI DNR to an individual or group so that we can inform association members of what is taking place on Nelson L. Passed.

Amundson Conditional Use Permit: This permit is for new RV spaces just off Nelson L. There are concerns about added traffic on Ct. Rd T and more boat docks on the lake. This does not appear to be a Nelson L Assoc. issue.

Boat Launch Inspections Grant: Our grant proposal to the WI DNR was approved for 2016. We will receive $6,000 to use for boat inspections on our 2 public boat landings.
